Seasonal Retail Stock Receiving Part-time: Bloomingdale's 59th Street, NYC

Job Overview:

Bloomingdale's... like no other store in the world seeks a Seasonal Retail Stock Receiving Associate for our iconic flagship store on 59th Street and Lexington Ave.

As a Stock Receiving Associate, you will play a key role in the back of the house operational aspects of our business which includes receiving and processing new merchandise and ensure it is delivered to the selling floor during the fast-paced holiday season. You will and perform tasks that are critical in offering our customers the best shopping experience in our stores. Our seasonal associates are temporary employees.

All seasonal associates may be required to work on weekends, and/or on key holiday shopping events, such as the Friday after Thanksgiving, Friends and Family and Private Sale. Hours are subject to change based on business needs.

Essential Functions:

• Loading and unloading trucks
• Moving merchandise within the department to prepare for sales and other promotional events
• Maintaining a neat, orderly stockroom
• Processing new merchandise (unpacking, hanging, etc.) and delivering it to the floor
• Delivering supplies to the floor
• Assisting with customer carry-out
• Processing merchandise for movement - returns to vendor, transfers to other locations, salvage
• Understanding the causes of shortage and how to prevent it
• Greeting all customers in a friendly manner

Qualifications:

Education/Experience

Prior stock or merchandising experience preferred but not essential

Communication Skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, peers and management
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as memos, safety regulations, etc.

Reasoning Ability

• A team player who possesses the ability to work in a learning environment

Other Skills

• Ability to work well with others and independently
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple
