Design, develop and plan production for Capital enterprise construction projects (new, acquisition, expansion and interior remodel). Organize, assess andmanage information and schedules to meet merchandising goals and objectives within timelines. Engage Facility Engineering, Procurement, Merchandising,Operations, Senior/Executive Leaders and consultants. Essential Job Functions:
  • Provide creative, technically accurate project specific design solutions in accordance with Corporate and Division merchandising and operationsobjectives, construction standards, budget and timelines.
  • Participate in plan scope development/subsequent plan reviews by engaging a multi-disciplined team (Executives, merchants, and project engineers)through on-site visits, store walks, focus groups, conference calls and "live" meetings.
  • Anticipate problems/make adjustments with guidance from Division/Supervisors.
  • Coordinate /prioritize Division weekly schedules with Supervisor to address priorities and engage Division/Regional Construction.
  • Maintain information is accurate in databases/Site-Folio (e.g. plans, documentation, project lists, schedule priorities and dates, billing data).
  • Identify opportunities/potential solutions for process improvement.
  • Recognize the need for project collaboration and/or escalation and notify the appropriate personnel.
  • Provide leadership resource as "planning observation expert" for assigned store department, area or operation through on-going research, independentinterpretation, information sharing, and execution in plans.
  • Maintain comprehensive working knowledge of merchandising, operations, construction, code guidelines, planning principles and objectives, as well asstore equipment functions and requirements.
  • Participate in remodel Store Focus Groups with customers and store associates as necessary.
  • Monitor and maintain awareness of grocery retail industry and competition as it relates to planning and design.
  • Independently manage project schedules and priorities for assigned Division.
  • Understand retail merchandising, operations and construction standards within store design.
  • Point of contact for Division.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Minimum Position/Education Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, planning, interior design or related field or 5 years' experience in retail store space planning with exposure toconstruction and project design management
  • Proficient in use of AutoCAD
  • Ability to understand/follow redlines, sketches and direction to produce plans
  • Ability to collaborate within a team
  • Meet project schedules/deadlines
  • Ability to organize/manage time
  • Effective communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Desired Previous Job Experience:
  • Exposure to field related aspects (e.g. construction/ fixture design/interior design/merchandising/operations/ related fields)
  • Project scheduling/management relating to project design

  • Revit training or experience
