Sodexo is seeking an experienced Chef to join a talented leadership team at Loyola Marymount University, in sunny California. This position will oversee the operating team of a fast paced, newly remodeled retail restaurant location, the local grab & go program & some catering support.

Responsibilities for this hands-on role will include menu planning, food prep, inventory management, purchasing, food & labor costing, scheduling, safety/sanitation & catering processes. This postition will also have direct customer and client interaction.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, a successful Chef Candidate will have:

2+ years of experience in a fast paced retail restaurant/catering environment

Proven track record with cost controls, quality controls & team management Computer literacy Excellent communication & customer service skills Strong working knowledge of culinary processes & food safety/sanitation Current Serve Safe Certification Culinary degree (preferred), or comparable related field experience Seeking bilingual candidates; the ability to speak Spanish will assist in managing the diverse team To learn more about our premier location, please visit:

Position Summary

Responsible for food production in a foodservice operation. May be responsible for one area (i.e., hot foods) or could specialize (i.e., catering). Supervises a staff of hourly associates. May be responsible for food inventory and ordering. May conduct culinary training. Manages the kitchen. Reports to GM or Executive Chef.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree

Basic Functional Experience - 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.

Sodexo will require a background check and may require a drug screen for this position.
