RICHMOND COMMUNITY HOSPITALPOSITION SUMMARY The primary function of the OPIC educator is to coordinate and conduct OPIC training programs for Bon Secours Virginia OPIC's. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 1. Departmental orientation for new OPIC staff members consisting of an organized methodology that promotes assimilation into the OPIC departments. 2. Organizes departmental in-service appropriate to new services, processes, policies, procedures, and compliance with regulatory standards. 3. Participates in performance improvement activities per department initiatives as directed by the administrative director. 4. Participates in development of the OPIC Intern/Extern Program. 5. Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of standards of care and practice to ensure evidence-base standards are followed. 6. Provides direct patient care as necessary 7. This position services and supports care for the infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations. JOB REQUIREMENTS 1. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.2. Current Virginia licensure as an RN, or awaiting reciprocity.3. Current BLS certification.4. BSN Required, Master's Degree preferred. OCN preferred.5. Experience with adult and pediatric education preferred.6. Demonstrated ability to utilize computer applications including Microsoft Office.7. Excellent interpersonal skills using oral and written abilities, collaborating with medical and other professional staff is required
