Providence is calling a full time, day shift Registered Nurse Nursery to Providence Saint John's Health Center Santa Monica, CA.
Providence Saint John's is dedicated to caring for women at every stage in their life. We offer full range of services including obstetrics, gynecology, cancer treatment, age-related hormone therapy, osteoporosis assistance, orthopaedic surgery and cardiac care. Women in their childbearing years have peace of mind knowing they will deliver their baby in a facility with a Level IIIA NICU and board-certified obstetricians and anesthesiologists on-site around the clock.
In this position you will:
Working under the supervision of and in collaboration with, the Charge RN, Material Child Health, the Registered Nurse of the Mother Baby Unit (newborn nursery & postpartum) is a professionally licensed person with demonstrated perinatal clinical expertise. The individual in this position provides a 100 % clinical service for the Mother Baby unit by:
Planning and coordinating ante & postpartum care & newborn care, Applying and interpreting hospital policies and nursing practice guidelines
Participate in the monitoring of the inventory control of supplies
Ensuring the order, functionally and availability of supplies and equipment
Maintaining an effective line of communication with the Charge RN, physicians, peers, ancillary staff, and visitors
Participating in select patient care activities sush as instructing, teaching, demonstrating, and evaluating patients progress against anticipated outcomes.
Participating in and collaborating with the Administrative Director, in meeting the department's budgetary objectives
Behaviorally supporting the philosophy, objective and goals of hospital administration and its representatives.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Current California Registered Nurse License
Current Basic Life Support card (BLS) for Healthcare Provider for the American Heart Association.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Prior clinical experience at a staff position
