Sr. Construction Manager - Solar

Senior ElectricalConstruction Manager needed for 1 year contract in Tonopah, AZ.

Electrical Construction Manager will need to have a high level of experience to be able to manage two projects one 150 MW and one 100 MW project at the same time. This is no small task so we need someone with experience on lare scale projects.

Duration: 1 year

Location: Solar Site in Tonopah, AZ

Pay: $50-55/hr

No per diem or mileage offered; local candidates preferred.

Qualifications:

Education Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical discipline. Advanced degree or professional engineers registration is preferred.

Experience Requires a minimum of 10 years experience managing large construction projects. Background in management or construction of energy infrastructure projects preferred.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities Must possess knowledge and understanding of environmental requirements, construction practices/techniques, construction contracting, labor contracts and rules, and project controls and scheduling. Must be detail oriented, analytical and computer literate. Self-starter with proven leadership abilities, strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities:

65% Oversees and monitors construction contracts to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, environmental permits, quality assurance programs and construction safety program. Provides necessary coordination and acts as liason to transition from plant startup and commissioning to plant operations. Reviews contractor payment and change order requests. Provides support, as requested, to management for contractual disputes between owner and contractor. Prepares project weekly and monthly construction progress reports. Conducts and documents regular contractor construction meetings. Provides coordination between corporate, home office and field functions.

15% Manages owner construction staff required for the project consisting of direct hires and contract employees.

15% Coordinates with start-up managers and engineers to facilitate start-up of the project in accordance with the contract and general industry standards. Ensures efficient turnover of plant to operations and maintenance staff and coordinates with the operations and maintenance staff

5%������ Provides guidance and technical support to the Project Development Team during the development phase including construction budgeting and scheduling, site evaluation and selection, and project construction risk assessment and mitigation plans. Participates in presentations to management, as well as in public forums/settings.

No special certifications needed. Standard PPE needed, hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, steel toed boots, safety vest.
