Product Development Chemist

Seeking to hire a full time Chemist to support Product Development Laboratory located in Rock Hill site. The expectation is that the candidate could also function as a laboratory manager and can take on the responsibility of organizing and supervising the work of laboratory technicians.

Position requirements are:
- 2-10 yrs professional laboratory experience
- Self motivated
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively to all levels and roles in the organization
- Ability to perform physical testing, west chemistry, and instrumental analysis with high accuracy, efficiency, and repeatability
- Tests include titrations, water retention, and paper industry related testing.
- Ability to develop test procedures
- Ability to support development to production transitions
- Excellent time management skills enabling management of multiple projects simultaneously
- Flexibility and ability to manage projets in a dynamic small business environment
- Entrepeneurial attitude
- Minimum qualification of a B.S. in chemistry (ACS-certified preferred) is required.

Best candidate would come from a paper background. Looking for someone with a more synthetic organic background and not analytical. Someone with a mechanical aptitude would be a plus.
