About this job

The position will have the lead role in capital expenditures for production related equipment. This person will be responsible for writing specification packages, distribution of quote packages, reviewing vendor quotes, vendor selection, assist purchasing, overseeing equipment builds, and insuring that equipment is ready for production. The production equipment includes, but is not limited to, fixtures, dedicated assembly, and robotic packaging. This individual will work closely with outside vendors, engineers, and production, to insure the equipment performs the needed operations within the specifications. This person will also mentor and assist in all areas of production equipment as needed.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Develop standards for all purchased assembly equipment for the operation. As the company develops we would like to insure that there is a commonality within the company.
* Approve all production equipment standards. Example: As the company grows, there will be others responsible for the development of equipment specifications and purchase of equipment. Before the equipment may be purchased this individual will be responsible to validate it meets the company's specifications.
* Assist in the budgeting process for projects and purchase of production equipment.
* Required to track capital expenditures and general expenses to set budget.
* Provide the company with equipment that meets or exceeds NEC, OSHA and the company's safety standards.
* Assist maintenance department in the development of preventative and predictive maintenance plans.
* Maintain good working relationships with sub-suppliers.
* Develop project tracking system to keep team updated of timing of project
* Help to support CI activities with guidance when needed to improve productivity.
* Develop and implement control solutions for assembly equipment related to production.
* Work with vendors to track their performance to written specifications and timing.
* Train other personnel
* Other duties as assigned

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

* Must have education and experience in one or more of the following core areas as it relates to production equipment:
o Laser and resistance welding
o Automated assembly / formation.
* Ability to manage projects and direct work teams to implement production equipment.
* Must have manufacturing and process experience.
* Able to work in a global team
* Able to travel 5-10%

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Must have a Bachelor's degree and 5 years plus experience with the development, purchasing, operations and troubleshooting of assembly equipment
* The ability to work independently with minimum supervision and have a drive to continually improve his or hers realm of responsibility
* The candidate must have strong inter-personal skills with the ability to communicate and train at all levels of the organization.
* The candidate must be able to use computer programs such as Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, etc…
* Candidate must be familiar with Auto-CAD.
* Individual must have a solid understanding of PLC and robotic controls, integrated assembly equipment with low and high voltages. Excellent mechanical aptitude is required.
