About this job
The Assistant General Manager's (AGM) primary duty is managing all aspects of the restaurant &
bar operations to ensure quality standards of food and service are met consistently, assist in
management of approximately 60 staff including hiring/firing and development, and optimizing
profits and increasing sales.
In addition, the AGM at Twisted Root is also responsible for:
? Directing the work of employees to achieve Twisted Root's goals of:
o Great Food & Drink
o Great Service
o Friendly Staff (to customers and each other)
o Clean & Well Maintained Buildings
? Scheduling & managing scheduled shifts using shift goals;
? Interviewing, hiring and training, development and disciplining of employees;
? Setting and directing work schedules for employees;
? Handling employee & customer complaints professionally and with care;
? Motivating employees to execute the overall direction and goals of Twisted Root
? Apportioning work and responsibilities among employees;
? Ordering food, bar and supplies necessary;
? Facilitates portions of new hire orientation
? Controlling food and supply inventory
? Contributes to inventory and cost of goods management
? Management of staff within assigned department
? Shows up prepared to report on assigned responsibilities at management and staff
meetings
Qualifications
College degree is preferred. A combination of practical experience and education will be
considered as an alternative.
* Working knowledge of business software (Word, Excel, Social Media)
* Working knowledge of POS & inventory systems
* 2+ years experience managing a team of 30+ employees
* 1+ years in an AGM role of a restaurant or bar
* 1+ years experience managing high volume bar business
* Proficient in the following dimensions of restaurant functions: food planning and preparation,
purchasing, sanitation, security, company policies and procedures, personnel management,
record-keeping, and preparation of reports
* Must possess a valid drivers' license and have reliable transportation
* Must be eligible to work in the United States
* Must agree to background and credit check
Skills & Abilities of a Successful AGM
* Self-disciplined and self-starter
* Ability to motivate employees to work as a team
* Ability to deal with the pressures of simultaneously coordinating a wide range of activities and
recommend appropriate solutions to restaurant problems
* Must possess good communication skills for dealing with staff, customers and community
* Ability to selectively & effectively hire, develop and coach others
* Ability to coordinate multiple tasks such as food, beverage and labor cost while maintaining
required standards of operation in daily restaurant activities
* Able to perform all functions at the restaurant level
* Strong knowledge of basic Human Relations
* Ability to interpret labor laws, personnel rules & regulations

* Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies
weighing 45 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist motion
* Position requires working out doors in all weather conditions
* Position may require work with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment as well as operation
phones, computers, fax machines, copiers, and other office equipment.
* Reports directly to the General Manager
* Salary is negotiable depending on related work experience
