Vice President, Exchange Operations Support - Telecommute - NE, Midwest or Southeast
 
Primary Responsibilities:

Lead all support functions for the Exchange business to include oversight of the remediation function, project teams and inventory management functions. Works closely with the organization's senior leaders and enterprise key business partners to define and execute its mission in light of its statutory responsibilities and the health insurance needs of public and private exchanges and consumers
Be finely attuned to the rapidly evolving health insurance market and health care delivery system trends and opportunities, as well state and national legislative and political dynamics, to provide effective strategic leadership for the operations organization
Building and managing external relationships, both within UHG and outside of UHG, that are essential to the success of the Exchange
Serve as principal operations face of the Exchange
Lead and develop a high-performance, consumer-centric management team and workforce
Foster a culture of accountability that emphasizes people and performance management, coaching and development, and employee engagement
Present timely, accurate and complete business plans, reports and presentations
Must be able to manage and work within a very fast-paced, quickly evolving organization and steer and track multiple, complex priorities
Comfortable and effective working with diverse groups of individuals and able to successfully manage the dynamic and differing needs, interests and viewpoints of multiple stakeholders
Understand and anticipate the behaviors and needs of consumers and customers. Collaborate with the senior vice president to develop strategies and tactics that simplify and improve the consumer experience and increase consumer and customer satisfaction and loyalty
Proactively initiate and drive change in processes, tools and capabilities that increase operational efficiency and effectiveness while concurrently improving the consumer experience and complying with regulatory requirements
Collaborate with key business partners and to stay abreast of changes in the commercial and individual marketplace. Proactively communicate and drive strategic and operational plans to achieve the required operational results
Consistently achieve key performance metrics, including consumer satisfaction, compliance, employee engagement and financial objectives
Build and foster relationships within a matrix organizational structure to proactively resolve issues, drive efficiencies and champion the consumerism strategy
Lead and develop a high-performance, consumer-centric management team and workforce
Foster a culture of accountability that emphasizes people and performance management, coaching and development, and employee engagement
Present timely, accurate and complete business plans, reports and presentations
Proven operational leader with at least 10 years of broad-based, progressive experience in a highly complex environment
A proven ability to focus on the external marketplace to insure that UHG is at least on par with competitors from both inside and outside the healthcare industry  relative to exchange strategy and service capabilities
Experience with strategic, consumer-centric initiative development and implementation, including operating policies and procedures, and work process improvements required
Demonstrated success at driving high employee engagement and lowering attrition
Experience operating in a highly regulated and rapidly change industry where compliance is critical to future business success

Requirements


Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree
10+ years of broad-based operational leadership experience within a large complex in a complex environment and highly regulated industry (i.e. healthcare; financial services, etc.)
7+ years of management of multi-discipline teams of 200+ team members
7+ years of experience leading end to end process improvement (preferably in healthcare environment)
Experience with strategic, consumer-centric initiative development and implementation, including operating policies and procedures, and work process improvements required
Demonstrated success at driving high employee engagement and lowering attrition
Experience leading in a global operations environment
Demonstrated ability to foster and maintain relationships both with internal and external constituents
Ability to travel up to 50%
Preferred Qualifications:

Masters of Business Administration
Experience with government Healthcare Exchange Programs
