The Assistant Manager supervises the daily operations of the restaurant with consistent improvement of all elements of service quality. Provides superior customer service while maintaining the high standards of food & beverage quality.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the training & continued development of front of house staff
  • Hold daily pre-shift and monthly meetings to ensure improvements
  • Provide performance feedback to front of house employees when necessary
  • Assist in checking out servers & bartenders nightly
  • Assist in scheduling labor as required by anticipated business activity while ensuring that all positions are staffed when and as needed and labor cost objectives are met.
  • Assist in administering organizational costs and efficiencies.
  • Ensure that alcoholic beverages are served within the rules proscribed by the UDABC. Order, receive & maintain an appropriate inventory of the front of the house food & supplies; which may include the transportation of goods.
  • Supervise and assist as necessary with all operations
  • Control cash & other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with restaurant policies and procedures, in an organized and timely manner.


Qualifications:
  • College degree together with a minimum of 2 years previous experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous supervisory and budget administration experience - preferred
  • Ability to bend, lift & carry heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Basic knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Exceptional wine, sprits and beer knowledge. Adequate understanding of UDABC laws and private club management.
  • Food handlers and beverage service permits
  • Experience in ordering, inventory control, staff scheduling, cash reports and similar administrative or management functions.
  • Experience working with a variety of commercial food service equipment.
