About this job

Under the direction of a Radiologist, performs nuclear medicine procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures requiring independent professional judgment, with initiative and ingenuity to administer radiopharmaceuticals for radiologic diagnosis utilizing equipment specific to the modality. Assists and/or administers radiopharmaceuticals. Responsible for on call duties. Recognizes the purpose of employment to be proper, expedient patient care. Applies knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span to identify patient and family requirements relative to age specific needs. Graduate of a recognized program in nuclear medicine or radiologic technology. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or registry eligible. Specialty registration (ARRT) in nuclear medicine or NMTCB certification preferred. Certification in basic CPR required.

Previous experience in nuclear medicine preferred.

Working knowledge of equipment, procedures and protocols to be able to perform all nuclear medicine exams. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Ability to recognize subtle differences between healthy and pathological areas. Ability to manage patients during exam, follow oral and written instructions
