Job Description – Medicare/Medical collections specialist

PrideStaff Financial, a recruiting firm specializing in accounting and financial positions, is seeking a highly coordinated and efficient Medicare/ Medical collection specialist for a client. In this position, you will assist financial recovery services with generating revenue by collecting and making financial payment arrangements; monitoring and pursing delinquent accounts.

Job Responsibilities –Medicare/ Medical collections specialist

As a Medical collections specialist, you will collect on delinquent accounts by establishing a billing/payment arrangement with patients. Efficient follow-up on billing arrangements with patients when payment gaps take place.

Additional responsibilities for the Medical collector include:

Proficient use of Client’s EMR Platform

Ability to read and process both Medicare and Private Insurance EOB’s

Maintain medical bad-debt cost report by tracking billings

Secure outstanding balance payments for hospital employees through payroll deductions

Protect patient billing confidentiality

Job Requirements – Medicare/Medical collections specialist

As the Medical collections specialist, you must be diligent and detail oriented. The Medical collector must have a high level of critical thinking skills for our busy client.

Additional requirements of the Medical collector include:

Previous experience as Medicare/Medical collector

Medical LCD’s and policy requirements

Graduate of an accredited high school

Compensation – Medicare/Medical collections specialist

The chosen Medical collector will receive an hourly pay based on experience and skillsets in the range of:

$10.50/hr. and $13.50/hr.
