Optum Behavioral Health is seeking an Employee Assistance Program Consultant to be responsible for providing telephonic management consultation and for managing workplace referred cases for Optum client companies. This individual certifies and monitors appropriate levels of care, after conducting an initial assessment.  The employee will interface with key members of the account's work organization, such as HR personnel, managers, supervisors and union representatives; coordinates care with emergency, CIRS, and care management team or other managed health organizations; and is  responsible for entering relevant data and clinical information into the computer system.
 
Primary Responsibilities:


Reviews initial A&R clinical assessment with providers; coordinates and certifies appropriate level of care; and  recommends community resources if appropriate
Provides clinical and work related consultation to providers regarding treatment plans, job performance, mental health, chemical dependency, and EAP related issues
Assists EAP staff with providing in depth telephonic counseling
Provides consultation for management, union, or other key member of the account's work organization regarding EAP services, safety sensitive positions, and work related issues as needed
Participates in staff meetings, case conferences, and in-service opportunities
Documents clinical data and result of telephone reviews
Participates as directed in the Quality Improvement Program

Requirements


Required Qualifications:


Current, unrestricted Behavioral Health license in California
A minimum of 2 years of post-Master's clinical experience in a variety of settings  with emphasis on mental health, chemical dependency, and workplace issues
A minimum of 2 years of EAP experience 
Demonstrated ability to use a PC in a Windows environment, including MS Word
Preferred Qualifications: 


Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP)
Familiarity with DOT, NRC, FAA and other regulatory bodies' rules and regulations.
Experience in a Managed Care setting
Utilization Review experience
Experience working in an environment that required coordination of benefits and utilization of multiple groups and resources for patients
