Database Administrator / Build Engineer needed in the Draper suburb of Salt Lake City. This is a 4+ month rolling contract opportunity with probability of permanent conversion.


Overview:
This position will be responsible for installation, configuration, management and monitoring of Microsoft SQL Server systems. Additionally, this position will manage both the database and .net release processes. This position reports to the Director of Technology.

Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, upgrade, monitor, maintain and manage multiple SQL Server databases.
Establish and maintain strong backup and recovery policies and procedures.
Create, maintain and monitor SQL Server replication.
Perform database and application tuning.
Perform code review and provide consultation to development teams.
Review, approve and create database logical and physical designs.
Build and release internally created applications.
Develop improvements to the software build, installation and deployment processes.
Work with development team to design and implement changes
Perform change management activities.
Administers, maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures including documentation for ensuring the security and integrity of the company data and processes.
Performance tuning and troubleshooting.

Required Skills / Competencies:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience required.
Must have excellent troubleshooting and reasoning skills.
Must be able to work from oral and written instructions from task list and be able to evaluate workload and set own priorities.
Experience working in a team environment
Ability to work with technical and non-technical people
As a DBA must be knowledge in the following Microsoft SQL Server principles including but not limited to :
- Data modeling and database design
- Database and system performance tuning
- Writing and optimizing queries and stored procedures
- Replication strategies and data migration techniques
As a Build Engineer must be able to manage and understand the following, including but not limited to:
- Microsoft Development and Build technologies
- Strong scripting skills, especially PowerShell.
- Experience with IIS web services.
Must have exceptional communication skills (listening, oral, and written).

Work Environment
Primary shift is between 8:00pm-5:00pm, Must be available to work during evening and/or weekends and holidays based on business needs.
Available to provide 24x7 support in an on call rotation with other staff members.
