About this job

Minimum Requirements:

1. High school graduate or demonstrated equivalent.

2. Three years of experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial environment, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Associate's degree or trade school certification in Industrial Electrical, Industrial Technology, HVAC or a related field.

2. Experience troubleshooting and repairing control systems and electrical systems.

3. Experience troubleshooting and repairing components and circuits up to 480V 3 Phase, including motors, breaker panels, and buss bars.

4. Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial lighting systems.

5. Mechanical ability related to rebuilding large industrial pumps and piping seals/valves.

6. Experience troubleshooting and repairing large HVAC/R equipment, including refrigeration systems, large air handling systems, and 200 ton chillers.

7. Experience with large steam systems, steam traps, piping and valves.

8. Experience safely operating aerial and platform lifts, working at heights of 30 feet or higher.

Physical Requirements:

* Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.

* Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.

* Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.

* Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.

* Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.

* Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.

* Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.

* Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.

* Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.

* Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.

* Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.

Special Requirements:

* Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.

Job Description:

URS, an AECOM company, is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician in Aurora, IL! Typical work schedule is 2nd shift; hours may vary based on business demand.

Candidates must be flexible. Individuals hired into these positions work on a "casual status" basis, which does not guarantee a minimum number of work hours and provides limited medical benefits. These positions can lead to full time permanent as the positions become available within the organization.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing preventive and corrective maintenance to a wide variety of facility related equipment in an industrial environment, such as HVAC systems, electrical systems, control systems, lighting systems, and overhead doors. In addition, general maintenance work such as minor plumbing repairs, office furniture and fixtures repairs, etc. will be required. May assist higher level or specialized technicians with any facility related repairs. Must have the ability to understand and work safely with 3-phase electrical power circuits. Must be a self-motivated individual capable of working with little supervision at times.
