This description is a “general” description of duties related to the position of a Store Manager. Job descriptions may be altered at any time.

Position Purpose
Manage and promote all aspects of the business: buying, selling, pricing, and merchandising, assistance with staff recruitment, training, and development. Promote a high level of customer service and involvement, and continually strive for innovative solutions and alternatives in bettering the business

Major Area of Responsibility

  • Meet or exceed all financial goals, focusing on sales, gross margin and overall profitability.
  • Maintain all controllable expenses within established budgetary guidelines. Process all invoices and related documents to insure that all service providers are paid within appropriate time frame.
  • Drive sales through the professional development of sales associates, focusing on coaching, training, and role modeling acceptable selling practices.
  • Support and execute all merchandise buys as determined beneficial. Manage all customer buys to insure the store can maintain profitability stands in reselling these products.
  • Promote and role model superior customer service to all customer every day.
  • Maintain merchandise and visual presentation standards on a daily basis.
  • Recruit and hire associates for all areas of the store. Establish weekly work schedules, implement development plans, and set productivity and performance standard for each associate. Perform and complete all associate evaluations in a timely manner.
  • Insure all inventory functions are completed as directed, including regular inventory counts. Insure merchandise receiving and ticking occurs in a timely manner so that merchandise can be processed to the selling floor for sales. Maintain all proper inventory levels of merchandise.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate security procedures including POS opening and closing procedures. Prepare daily bank deposits and perform daily/weekly bookkeeping tasks. Produce weekly/monthly management buy and sales reports.

Qualifications

  • 4 year degree in business preferred. 2+ years prior management and supervisory experience, and 2+ years retail sales experience, preferably in similar merchandise lines.
  • Strong leadership, organizational and time management skills are crucial.
  • Proven customer service skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Sales and goal-oriented, and must be computer literate.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, up to 8 hours a day.
  • Lifting up to 40 lbs. without assistance.
  • Bending, rotating, and reaching conducive to a retail environment and to receiving, pricing and stocking merchandise.
