Under the supervision of the Supervisor of Building Trades, the Plumber II, CF will install, maintain, inspect and repair standard plumbing equipment concerned with water, gas, oil, sewage, fire control, and steam refrigeration systems. Troubleshoot plumbing systems. Install and repair pumps. Maintain a plumbing shop. Create rough sketches and estimate labor and materials for minor plumbing orders. Order and store plumbing supplies and equipment. Consult with other trades people. Maintain records and produce reports. Supervise, instruct and lead unskilled assistants.

Duties: 35% Install, inspect, maintain, and repair plumbing equipment concerned with water, gas, oil, sewage, fire control, and steam refrigeration systems at the institution. Troubleshoot plumbing systems. Maintain a plumbing shop. Create rough sketches and estimate labor and materials for minor plumbing orders. Prepare and submit purchase orders. Receive and stock plumbing supplies and parts. Maintain plumbing shop inventories and records of repair parts and supplies. 35% Supervise, instruct and work with inmate crews on the installation, repair and maintenance of plumbing systems in the support buildings. Work with inmate crew in the installation of new equipment or alternation of plumbing systems. 25% Maintain tool control (security and inventory), search inmates and work areas for contraband. Ensure that all tools and supplies are accounted for and stored properly. Maintain inmate security and accountability. Prepare inmate work reports and maintain inmate timekeeping records. Provide inmate safety training and enforce safety regulations. 5% Responsible for accurately signing-in and signing-out daily on the 998-A, meeting FLSA laws and rules to ensure no FLSA violations are committed and attaching required documentation for absences to the 998-A. Responsible for meeting yearly In-Service Training requirements and obtaining On-the-Job Training as needed. Provide assistance and perform other duties as directed by supervisory staff.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Must be self-motivated, detail oriented and able to work independently.
