The Cafeteria Tech II is a multifaceted individual that possesses the ability to work all positions in the cafeteria. This position is responsible for sales and cash handling functions, basic food preparation, and possesses excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities

Represents Mercy and the department in a positive manner by following all Mercy Service Standards when dealing with customers and co-workers.

Sets up, organizes, and stocks work areas. Uses FIFO method when stocking areas.

Maintains accurate and adequate sanitation, health, and safety records as required by policy and procedure.

Knows, applies, and maintains a high level of sanitation and food handling.

Maintains proper portion control by serving food in correct proportion, weighing and measuring ingredients properly, and following department approved recipes.

Knows and applies quality standards when cooking and presenting food for sale.

Knowledge and ability to use cooking equipment such as grills, steamer, microwave, inpinger, and combination ovens.

Organized and able to work on several orders simultaneously.

Provides excellent customer service and handles requests in a timely, efficient manner.

Operates cash register using department and hospital standards.

Wears proper personal protective equipment when appropriate.

Disassembles and cleans equipment.

Wears clothing and Health System badge consistent with dress code, attends to personal hygiene, and keeps a clean, well groomed appearance.

Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: None.

Licensure: None

Experience: None.

Certifications: ServSafe certification obtained within the first 6 months. Food Handlers Card obtained within 90 days of hire.

Other: Skills, knowledge and abilities: Able to read, write, and follow instructions.

Working conditions, mental and physical requirements:

Equipment used: All food preparation equipment including oven, grill, inpinger, microwave, steamer, combination ovens.
