3M is seeking a Material Handler / Plant Engineering Helper for the Fabrication Services located in Staples, MN. Ready to be part of what's next?
Job Summary :
3M Fabrication Services in Staples, MN has an opening for a Material Handler / Plant Engineering Helper who will provide coolant changing and material handling assistance for production and facilities. Communicate coolant supplies inventory. Work closely and efficiently communicate with lead persons, project coordinators and supervisors. Perform material handling duties by following its standard work.
Principal Functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Maintain a safe work environment and keep current with all safety policies and procedures
- Participate in the daily 5S and housekeeping expectations
- Participate and embrace lean six sigma goals, expectations and projects
Coolant changing duties:
- Change machine tool coolant based on coolant management board schedule
- Recycle used coolant
- Assist with coolant testing as assigned by Utility
- Perform used filter paper disposal tasks
- Maintain a clean working area, including machine tools after coolant changes & coolant recycling area
Material handling duties:
- Move all materials as required by paged requests
- Visually check the shipping / receiving board daily for material handling requirements
- Issue material / commercial items and kit up. Label steel with type, release and sales order/work order as needed
- Perform part shipping prep as needed, including crate and container design and assembly needed for deliveries
- Empty machine tool chips as needed
- Follow standard work and 3M corporate guidelines
- Load and unload plant shipped and received freight
- Assist with completing PE assigned PM's
- Any other duties assigned by supervisor
This position will require working:
- A fixed 2nd shift
This position may require:
- Working overtime
- Weekend work
- Working holidays as needed
Basic Qualifications:
- Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher
Preferred Qualifications:
- Possess a Forklift license
- Possess a two (2) year AA Degree Trade / Technology degree
- Three (3) Years of Machine shop experience
- Five (5) years of manufacturing experience
- Material handling and machining coolant maintenance experience
Location: Staples, MN
Relocation: Is not authorized
