Minimum Requirements:

1. High School graduate or demonstrated equivalent.

2. Three years of experience in industrial mechanical maintenance, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Basic electrical knowledge, such as changing motors, fuses, etc.

2. Basic pneumatic/hydraulic knowledge.

3. Training/experience in conveyor repair/maintenance, including replacement of rollers, motors and mechanical equipment.

4. Working knowledge of hand and power tools.

5. Plumbing, welding, HVAC, and/or carpentry experience.

6. Must possess basic computer keyboarding skills for data entry purposes.

7. Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.

8. Experience and knowledge of the Rite Aid Distribution Center in Aberdeen.

Physical Requirements:

* Requires frequent moving of materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

* Requires sitting and standing for extended periods of time and frequent bending, twisting, reaching and turning.

* Must be able to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.

* Must be able to move heavy objects, such as motors, etc. (may be more than 50 pounds).

* May be required to work from heights, ladders and elevated platforms.

* Requires the use of various hand tools (i.e. utility knife, adjustable wrench, pliers, screwdriver, etc.).

* Some tasks require repetitive wrist movements.

Special Requirements:

* Must wear steel-toed safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves and hardhat.

* Keyboard skills and visual activity associated with the use of keyboards and terminals.

* Must be able to respond to emergency alarms.

* Requires the ability to operate forklifts, power and hand material moving equipment.

* Requires the ability to communicate with others on the telephone and in one on one or group discussions, meetings and presentations.

* Coping with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.

Work Environment:

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.

* The employee is occasionally exposed to high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; risk of radiation; and vibration.

* The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Job Description:

URS, an AECOM company, is seeking a 3rd shift Floor Mechanic in Aberdeen, MD! Typical work hours are 7:00pm -- 5:30am, Wednesday - Saturday; hours may vary based on business demand. This position works four 10-hour shifts per week.

The Floor Mechanic is responsible for maintaining industrial conveyor equipment, including but not limited to:

* Performing preventive maintenance and repairs to electronically and computer controlled automated equipment, utility equipment, facilities, etc.

* Ensuring the facility's equipment is repaired and maintained in a timely and thorough manner.

* Understanding and interpreting maintenance instructions and initiating solutions.

* Preparing and completing maintenance reports on time.

* Working from and interpreting project documents, such as maintenance manuals and blueprints, schematics.

* Coordinating projects requiring subcontract activity.

* Working safely around electricity up to 480 volts.

* Completing daily work logs timely and with detailed information.

* Coordinating projects/installs, upgrades, and fixes to the system with various vendors.

* Maintaining professional and courteous customer relations including client, vendor, and internal team.

* Participating actively in safety meetings and maintaining safety work practices as defined by the company.

* Representing the company in a positive manner with our customers on the floor as well as with our customers management team.

* Adhering to business code of conduct and other URS policies and protocols.
