About this job

The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for all financial and fiscal management aspects of the company.  The CFO will provide leadership and coordination in the administrative, business planning, investor relations, budgeting efforts and long range financial planning of the Company.  The CFO has direct oversight for: finance, investor relations, accounting, treasury, audit, budgeting, tax, and financial planning and analysis. 

The CFO will be expected to establish credibility quickly with the operating team and board as someone who brings valuable insights and business building experience.  The CFO will continue to develop the financial vision for the company and drive decisions and execution with a sense of urgency.  This individual will engage with the Executive Leadership Team and the Board of Directors on strategic direction of the business, and play an active role in driving operational performance. 

This individual must be a dynamic leader and a strong communicator and thrive in a fast-paced environment.  The CFO must have a collaborative but decisive management style and believes in being forthright and candor in communications.  High energy, charisma and flexibility are essential.

Essential Functions

-       A strategic business partner and key member of the Executive Leadership Team

-       Assesses and evaluates financial performance of the organization with regard to long term operational goals, budgets and forecasts

-       Provides insight and recommendations to both short term and long term growth plan of the organization

-       Communicates, engages and interacts with the Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team

-       Creates and establishes yearly financial objectives that align with the company’s plan for growth and expansion

-       Participates in pivotal discussions as they relate to strategic initiatives and operational models

-       Reviews and analyzes monthly financial results and provide recommendations

-       Develops and maintains operating budget

-       Reviews and ensures application of appropriate internal controls, SOX compliance and financial procedures

-       Utilizes forward-looking models and activity-based analyses to provide financial insight into the organization’s plans and operating budgets

-       Providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist the CEO and President / COO executives in performing their responsibilities.

-       Remain current on audit best practices; and state, federal and local law regarding company operations

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

-       Bachelor Degree (required) in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of ten years of experience in financial leadership within a multi-billion dollar organization

-       Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred

-       5 years of experience at a Chief Financial Officer level

-       M & A Experience

-       Financial leadership experience with a publicly traded company

-       Experience in a retail environment is strongly preferred

-       Outstanding knowledge and understanding of SOX compliance and SEC reporting

-       Excellent analytical, reasoning and problem solving skills

-       Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence and executive presence – ability to motivate staff and build and sustain excellent relationships at multiple levels within the workplace
