Providence is calling a Communications Director - Community Connect to Providence Health & Services in Renton, WA or Portland, OR.

The Director of Communications is responsible for leading and delivering a wide range of communications work in service to our IT provisioning program. This portfolio includes: Strategic communications consultation for Community Connect customers, integrated communications strategy development within and among Providence Epic teams and Providence regional leadership, communications program planning and execution to support a developing program, and collateral development and educational materials across all channels in support of sales, implementation, and account management. The person in this role will create strategies, develop tactics, and design, manage, and deploy communications materials that deliver measurable results for the organization and for our Community Connect customers.

The incumbent performs all duties in a manner that promotes Providence mission, values, and philosophy. In all aspects, he/she serves as a role model for the values and mission of the organization.

In this position you will:

Lead the development and implementation of Community Connect communications strategy, including communication channels, materials, and internal and external marketing. Drive communications and marketing through SharePoint platforms for internal Providence and Community Connect teams, for Community Connect customers in the community, and for potential customers seeking a sales and outreach presence on the Internet. Create, organize, update, and brand educational material and collateral to support future and new customers as they onboard to a Community Connect implementation. Create alliances with leadership across disciplines to crosswalk ideas and explore opportunities for collaboration; explore opportunities to raise awareness and educate Providence leaders and teams about the work of Community Connect. Lead the optimization of communication methods, including researching and recommending new communication channels and tools. Collaborate with other core leaders to approve and implement these methods. Connect with Providence marketing and communications teams to ensure Community Connect strategies align with overall Providence messages, branding, and goals. Ensure communication activity is accurately recorded and documented so that key stakeholders have easily accessible, up-to-date information; this includes strong support of SharePoint assets and content. Provide communications consulting to business unit, department or operational leaders (Director through VP) on internal and external communications, including communications planning and consulting with Community Connect sites. Strategize with internal stakeholders, write communications plans, research and write articles, prepare presentations, and plan logistics. Support various internal teams as they collaborate with Community Connect customers in ensuring active, helpful, clear, compelling material. Responsible for routine development, maintenance, and distribution of communications, both internal and to Community Connect clients.

Required qualifications for this position include:

Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, business or equivalent work experience.

8 to ten years of experience in corporate communications/PR environment, to include 2 years of leadership experience with complex projects, programs and/or communications staff.

Proven experience in developing and implementing large, complex communications plans (objectives, strategies, messaging, and tactical action) and projects with track record of increasing responsibility.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

Three (3) plus years of supervisory roles and major project leadership experience. Master's degree in a related field.

Health care industry experience, preferably in an organization that uses Epic. Proven ability to design communications that deliver measurable results against research metrics. Experience designing and developing SharePoint sites and/or other file-sharing tools. Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office software including PowerPoint. Knowledge of publication production, portable document format (PDF) technologies, file transfer, encoding, and compression options. Working knowledge of web-based communication/new and social media.
