ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
Must have ability to interpret and communicate/read/understand in English written and verbal material to perform essential job functions.
Must be able to communicate verbally, if necessary, for discussing cleaning procedures and problems with supervisor, team leader, and co-workers.
Must be able to understand issued instructions for successful performance of duties in coordination with the activities of other departments.
Ability to perform repetitive cleaning operations throughout the workday, under specific instructions with little need for individual judgment in working out job problems.
Ability to perform EVS procedures around acutely ill patients and in a health care setting.
Ability to follow instructions, work with janitorial equipment, and have some mechanical ability.
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
Usual requirements are to speak, read, write, and be able to follow instructions.
Some experience is helpful, but not always required. An inexperienced worker needs 1 to 3 months of on the job training under the direction of the housekeeping supervisors.
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
Must be able to understand, read, write English. Grade school required, high school preferred.
