Mortgage Loan Associates are assigned a mentor upon entering and will have to meet the standards defined by management for mortgage loan sales and cross-selling objectiveswhileensuring thatyourcustomers are satisfied with the service you provide. If you are a personable and energetic individual that wants to develop a careerandearn a livingbyhelpingESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Customer Prospecting-Learns to recognize market opportunities, understand similarities & differences of competitors, and effectively communicate the Fifth Third value proposition.-Begins to develop strategies, business plans, and marketing plans to drive sustainable business opportunities.-In partnership with experienced MLO, actively makes sales calls and begins to develop referral sources such as realtors, builders and financial centers to explain mortgage options that are available to their customers.Consultative Selling-Learns the Fifth Third Relationship, consultative sales process, engaging the One Bank team, upholding core values and building loyal customer relationships.-Fosters interactive dialogue by actively listening, asking needs-based questions and gain an understanding.-Learns to effectively present options and respond to objections by linking product/service to need and clearly explaining value, features, and benefits.-Learns to provide holistic financial solutions to current and prospective customers by coordinating customer proposals via One Bank meetings & processes. Proactively surfaces prospective clients and provides solutions to meet affiliate,teamandcustomergoals.-Learns to develop a negotiation strategy, overcomes objections, confidently asks for business and ensures a win-win outcome.Product and Pricing Expertise-Gains an understanding of Fifth Third products and services and gains information on pricing policies.-Learns to actively consult with prospective borrowers to provide the appropriate financial solution for the assessed customer need. Works with mentor to introduce clients to key partners (Personal Banker, Wealth Management Advisor)iftheappropriatecustomer solution is not a Mortgage product.-Actively participates in training and development opportunities to gain knowledge of available loan products, processing procedures, underwriting and general departmental guidelines.Deliver Results-Learns to consistently and accurately collects necessary documentation including fees and application (Fannie Mae form 1003 via 5/3 loan origination system).-Drive incremental loan volume.-Establishes relationships with fulfillment partners to successfully deliver product/service to customer within approved service level agreements (SLAs).-Communicates with Financial Center team, external referral partners, and/or applicants to provide timely updates and manage expectations.-Utilizes bank approved devices (e.g. PC and/or blackberry) for communication and access of daily rates, customer information, Fulfillment communications and other critical activities related to the loan origination process.-Maintains knowledge and adheres to Fifth Third Mortgage Company's policies and procedures including defined protocol for escalation exceptions.-Attends and participates in all Mortgage meetings and training as required by management.Customer Experience-In partnership with experienced MLO, attends loan closings and ensures exceptional customer experience is achieved for both the consumer and referral partner.-Ensures customer is well informed and quickly responds to requests.-Presents self in a courteous, friendly and professional manner.-Encourages customer to complete Customer Experience survey and maintains future contact to build long term trust and loyalty.-Finds opportunities to deliver our brand promise through community service. May volunteer on community Board(s) and/or present at seminars/conferences.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

Experience

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:-High school diploma or equivalent required. Four-year college degree preferred.-Desire to excel through strong collaboration with a team in a competitive environment.-Demonstrates organizational skills, written and verbal communications skills.-This position requires S.A.F.E. Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). The NMLS web site (mortgage.nationwidelicensingsystem.org) provides the MU4R questions andregistrationrequiredforemployment in this position.-Knowledge of residential mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing procedures beneficial.-Easily learns, adapts and uses various software programs. PC proficient in Windows based software programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Experience with Mortgage origination systems preferred.WORKING CONDITIONS:-Normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature and the like.-Extended viewing of computer screen.-Some travel required in local market area. Training travel required.
