The Internship Program is for students enrolled in major fields of study that align with full-time employment opportunities at John Deere. Students may enter the program during undergraduate or graduate studies. The majority of our internship experiences are offered in the summer months, usually lasting 13 weeks.

What You'll Do:

The Semester Internship Program is a training program for students pursuing technical fields of study. Universities sponsor a semester internship program; therefore, students must meet the eligibility requirements of their university before being considered for employment. Typically, students would enter the program during their sophomore year and work multiple work sessions until graduation. As a participant in this program, students are required to work three or more work sessions, which usually extends their normal graduation date by approximately one year.

User Experience Intern duties:

As part of John Deere's Global IT User Experience team:

You will help create innovative and intuitive digital experiences used by our customers, dealers and employees.

You will be involved in user-centered research as well as visual and interaction design activities resulting in world class desktop and mobile user interfaces.

We are looking for a student pursuing a degree in:

Information Technology

Digital Arts/Design

Industrial Design

Human Computer Interaction

Usability, or related degree.

Required:

Creative individual passionate about design and great user experiences.

Familiarity with user research and usability testing methodologies to prioritize user needs to drive design priorities.

Ability to design and deliver clean and usable user interface mockups for desktop, tablet and phone experiences.

Comfortable working with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Fireworks, Photoshop, Illustrator, or equivalent).

Incredible attention to detail and passion for driving quality.

A strong candidate will also have:

Knowledge of proven and emerging interaction and UI design patterns across devices.

Experience with modern front-end development including HTML, CSS, JavaScript and common libraries such as jQuery.

Minimum cumulative GPA required of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.

Willing to travel and relocate to Moline, IL
