Job Description:
The welding associate is responsible for working in the welding department as a welding material handler/assistant where they take various materials, mainly metals, and products to and from the supply/stock area to the welding area. The carts they will be pushing/pulling with the metals can weigh up to 35lbs. This is a highly repetitive position and fast paced department. Entry level welders with any welding experience could be immediately placed in a welding position, but not guaranteed. Most will start as a welding assistant and may be eventually trained to do welding once initiative, work ethic and the desire to want to do more is exhibited.
Work Environment:
The welding area is a very confined space which requires pushing/pulling/lifting up to 35 lbs. repetitively throughout the day. All new hires will be assigned a mentor that will be there through the life of their assignment. The mentor will show them around the facility and be a point of contact should the new hire need anything or have any facility/work related inquiries.
Qualifications:
Must Haves:
- High school diploma or equivalent. If no high school diploma or equivalent, candidate would have to pass work keys assessment through Work One.
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, ability to work overtime when needed
Preferred:
- Previous welding background is desirable but not required, solid work history.
Starting Pay:
$11.50/hour on night shift plus overtime
