A successful .NET Developer will have the following:

 

  • Bachelors degree (B.A.) and four years of related experience; or seven to eight years of related experience and training or equivalent combination of education and experience with C#, ASP.NET, AJAX, and WCF. Master's degree strongly preferred. 
  • Hands-on experience in design, development and implementation of Web applications using ASP .NET 4.0 and earlier versions, C#, Web Services, ADO.NET, LINQ, Win Forms.
  • Very strong experience in user interface design using HTML, CSS, DHTML, AJAX, JQuery, JavaScript, developer tools and JSON.
  • Ability to build web applications rapidly using .NET technology with backend connectivity using Oracle, MS SQL Server, MS Access, XML.
  • Proven expertise with relational database concepts like Queries, Views, stored procedures and triggers.
  • Ability to write unit test code using MBUnit/NUnit tools.

A successful .NET Developer at Dish will complete, full life cycle development of DISH public facing websites including ecommerce, customer acquisition, sales, marketing and social media applications. This person will be a part of a team that works on some of the most visible projects within our organization, including external and internal facing sites and web applications. 

 

Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:

 

  • Analyze information system requirements, create designs, and provide documentation by utilizing DISH specified tools and methodologies.
  • Provide information system technology solutions by adhering to DISH prescribed life-cycle tools and methodologies.
  • Technical and functional specification writing experience, create innovative, out-of-the-box solutions to complex problems. Research new technologies and validate applicability to current software architecture by extensive prototyping.
  • May provide a variety of services including but not limited to; design, development, day-to-day support, maintenance, trouble-shooting to improve, advance, simplify DISH business processes, code review, design reviews, provide day-to-day mentoring to junior developers, task delegation, and status reporting.
  • Occasionally will serve leadership or project management within application development teams to deliver coordinated software solutions. May also define standards and procedures, refine methods and techniques for information modeling and best practices for website development and deployment.
  • Working with peers and members of other departments (both business and IT) to successfully complete assigned projects.
