Sodexo's Campus Dining Division is seeking a Food Service Manager to support the dining services operations at Stony Brook University . Reporting to the General Manager, the Food Service Manager will be responsible for leading, directing and training front-line staff, ensuring service standards, food and physical safety standards, will resolve customer complaints, handles cash operations, utilizes Sodexo systems for food and labor management and will ensure smooth front of the house operations in a residential dining and/or retail dining environment.
** Work schedule will typically be a late-night shift from 5PM to 2AM, with some weekends.
The best qualified candidate will have the following:
- College/University high-volume resident and/or retail platform dining management experience
- Experience training and leading a resident dining staff (union experience is a plus)
- Experience with food and labor management systems
- Excellent client and customer relations skills
- Computer skills

Responsible for managing multi-functional food service areas in a single unit. May assume General Manager's (GM) responsibilities and authority in his/her absence. Assists in maintenance of cash control and payroll records. Assists in supporting the financial/Human Resources (HR) functions. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations.
Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED
Basic Management Experience - 1 year
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
Sodexo will require a background check and may require a drug screen for this position.
