Position Purpose
Dynamic, multi-faceted role of General Manager for Home Instead Senior Care Madison, with business and case management skills. Responsible for meeting sales growth and profitability goals through day to day leadership and coaching of his/her sales and administrative team. The GM must hold each team member accountable for their part in the process of acquiring new clients and CAREGivers, scheduling, and building strong relationships with our referral providers. The GM reports directly to the company President and works closely with the other branch locations and corporate managers. Candidates must have 3-5 years of experience leading teams and driving sales and revenue. As the face of Home Instead in the community, this leader must demonstrate our core value, Love (v.), in all interactions with internal and external customers and staff.

Business Management
  • Build a top notch administrative franchise team (recruit, hire, train, coach, develop staff).
  • Develop, annual sales/profit targets for approval by the company President, then achieve or exceed.
    • Leading and holding the branch team accountable for individual role metrics
    • Acting as the Inquiry Intake Specialist for incoming service inquiry calls or web generated leads
    • Manage expenses within defined budget categories (recruiting, administrative, overtime, etc.)
  • Having a working knowledge of all functional areas of the businesses and key processes
    • Ability to step into any functional area of the business as needed
  • Assess staff members through daily check-in’s, quarterly discussions, mid-/year-end performance evaluations. Take corrective action on performance issues, celebrate successes and set goals for upcoming periods.
  • Participate in competitor and/or market information along with forecasting and planning
 
Specialized Capabilities
  • Manage Client Quality Assurance process, including in-home needs assessment over time; Client Case Management to include engaging family members/guardians in discussions about increasing care needs due to cognitive or physical changes.
  • Interface with Physicians, Hospital and Facility staffing to ensure Quality Assurance process is understood, creating credibility for Home Instead’s ability to deliver transitional discharge and ongoing home care.
  • CAREGiver retention process oversight and engagement as needed to ensure job competency and performance levels with Clients are high.  
Required Skills and Characteristics
  • Proven results as a sales-minded leader, motivated by profitable sales growth
  • Solid business management skills, including P&L responsibility
  • Experience in Senior Care Case Management, ideally in Gerontology, clinical or social work experiences
  • Education/experience in Alzheimer’s & Other Dementias to support care planning for existing and new clients
  • Able to build strong relationships, based on a consultative approach
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, requiring the ability to shift gears at any moment in the day
