Position Summary
Perform a variety of clerical, data key entry, filing, customer service, and administrative duties to support the Kansas City Regional Distribution Center.
Position Description
* Collect and input data on company information systems.
* Operate an AS 400 computer performing such functions as data entry, running reports, and backing up tape drives.
* Perform duties such as correspondence, reports, and operate office equipment.
* Filing department documents.
* Know and follow company policies, procedures work rules, job requirements and safety requirements.
* Cross-train and backup other office clerical support roles, including but not limited to receiving clerk and claims clerk.
* Respond to hardware store calls regarding delivery, technical assistance and coordinating shipments of orders in a timely and professional manner
* Accurate and timely processing of reports and paperwork associated with the various procedures and duties.
* Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area.
* Promote a team work attitude within the department and with other departments of the company.
* Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
* Education Requirements: H.S. diploma or equivalent
* Years of Related Experience: Not less than 1 year data entry experience, customer service and office clerical experience required
* Computer Skills Required: Experienced keyboarding of 40 wpm, e-mail,Access, Excel, and Word required.
* Must be able to work extended hours, holidays, alternate shifts and weekends when required.
* Good oral, written & telephone communication skills.
* Ability to perform multiple assignments to the maximum level of quality standards while meeting assigned deadlines.
* Good organizational skills and attention to detail
* Ability to effectively handle sensitive or emotional customer contact situations with a positive and helpful attitude.
* Ability to operate and maintain a variety of complex printers such as Intermec thermal label printers and mainframe printers.
* Ability to read and write English and perform arithmetic functions.
* Must have ability to work in a fast paced, team environment.
* Ability to learn new functions, processes and methodologies.
