Optum is looking for consumer engagement specialists to handle customer service support for health insurance exchange enrollments. External applicants should come in with a proven track record of success and possess extreme proficiency with systems and soft skills. A strong customer service background is required, with emphasis on quality, first call resolution and the overall consumer experience (exchange experience is a plus, but not required). This is a complex service environment and will be ideal for customer service agents looking to start a career path. Agents must be very well spoken and have extreme attention to detail. The day to day scope of duties will assisting United Healthcare members who have enrolled in a UHC plan through a state exchange with items such as: eligibility, billing, payment, reinstatements and general customer service questions.

Minimum Requirements

• Agents must possess a minimum of 1 year of contact center experience in a customer service or a position of similar scope.

• Agent must be extremely proficient with using multiple systems at once (up to 9 systems) and have prior experience in using call center or office technologies.

• Agent must possess knowledge and clear understanding of various Health-Related products. Background in an exchange environment is preferred, but not required.

• Agent must provide a customer experience that exceeds the client’s goals.

• Agent must maintain call quality and customer satisfaction scores that either meets or exceeds established client/team goals and be capable of producing a “Super bowl commercial” worthy call.

• Agent must adhere to established company Policies/Procedures/Guidelines as set forth in the Employee Handbook and adapt to an established culture/work environment that is consistent with Optum and Client expectations.
