A client of ours is looking for an experienced Technical Writer and Technical Illustrator. The following outlines the responsibilities and the qualifications that we are looking for in the ideal candidate:
Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for taking a product specification (blue print) and write the service manuals, user manuals, warranty statements, knowledge management documents and packaging instructions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in English, Technical Communications, Technical Illustration or other technical discipline along with strong writing background is preferred.
- At least two years of technical writing experience is required.
- Experience in plumbing product installation, design, or documentation preferred, but will substitute similar experience in a related technical/manufacturing field.
- Mechanical aptitude required.
- Requires computer aptitude and demonstrated writing ability.
- Requires demonstrated visualization skills and the ability to translate between two and three-dimensional data views.
- Experience with XML and DITA authoring tools and SAP is preferred. Familiarity working with a tagged language (HTML/XML) is required. Experience with CAD or Pro/E, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photo Shop, and/or Arbortext IsoDraw a plus.
