Position Summary

Manage a team of analysts to identify, develop and monitor fraud risk strategies using industry-standard analytical approaches within a card life-cycle vertical.

Position Profile

  • Manage and develop a team of fraud risk strategy analysts to improve fraud strategies using industry-standard tools and analytical approaches.
  • Execute a continuous improvement approach to fraud risk strategy through the analysis and development of robust champion/challenger tests.
  • Ensure the timely completion and accuracy of all analyses performed by the strategy development team.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, ensuring the accuracy of results and develop meaningful insights based on observed performance.
  • Create and deliver insightful presentations to key leaders to influence direction of the business.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross functional partners across the enterprise and within Risk Strategy, including Fraud Operations, Service Center and Finance, to reduce fraud charge-offs, deliver a world-class customer experience, and meet business objectives.
  • Perform a variety of ad hoc analyses and support, as needed.


Position Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, math, economics, statistics, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience in quantitative analytics is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of consumer credit risk management experience with at least two years of fraud risk strategy experience. Minimum of one year of experience leading analytical teams to drive risk strategy outcomes is required.
  • Strong knowledge of rules-based strategy decision engines in a card environment with advanced level of proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and using analytical tools such as SQL, SAS and decision tree software is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of consumer credit card profit and loss drivers and the levers with which to influence them is required. Ability to diagnose fraud strategy performance and identify opportunities for test and learn. Ability to influence others through effective communication and subject matter expertise, with a high level of proficiency crafting presentations to support sound, objective-based decision making. Ability to execute and drive projects to completion in a timely manner and work collaboratively with cross-functional partners across the enterprise.
  • High level of problem solving and decision-making is required to determine long-term fraud risk standards for the portfolio and to manage multiple projects to achieve the portfolio and organization goals.
  • Creativity is required to decide scores, tools and systems that should be utilized to enhance the Bank’s future. Establishes appropriate credit standards. Recommends processes and policies to enhance revenue while maintaining acceptable risk standards.
