Overview:
The Registered Nurse, utilizing theoretical concepts as a basis for decisions in practice will assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized nursing care in accordance with standards of nursing practice for adult/geriatric patients.
Responsibilities:
Assesses the condition of patient and/or significant other in a timely, consistent and systematic manner. Documents objective and subjective data according to policy.
Develops an outcome oriented plan of care that reflects the patient's actual or potential health problems.
Implements the plan of care to achieve the identified outcomes for the patient according to policy and procedure.
Evaluates effectiveness of services provided.
Demonstrates effective and accurate verbal, written and electronic communication.
Participates in unit and organizational activities.
Demonstrates effective patient safety techniques
Demonstrates professional conduct and development.
Qualifications:
RN I Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Associates of Nursing Science
Licensure: Current Oklahoma RN License.
Certifications: Current BLS certification required before assigned to care for patients independently ONS chemo certification
Other: Completes Hospital and nursing competency within 3 months of employment and annually, submits to Nurse Manager/ Education Coordinator.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred Education: BSN
Preferred Certifications: OCN
Preferred Other: Charge nurse experience, history of caring for oncology patients, LPN for 5 years and RN for 3 years
RN II Minimum Qualifications: Must meet the minimum qualification of a RN I and have at least 2 years of experience working as a RN.
