Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist - Cardiology (Per Diem, Days / Evenings) - Full-time / Part-time

POSITION SUMMARY

Performs all phases of cardiac ultrasound testing, including M-Mode, two dimensional sector scan, pulsed and continuous wave Doppler color flow mapping, thereby assisting in providing clinical information to aide physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with various forms of acquired and congenital heart disease. Performs all phases of non-invasive cardiac EKG's, treadmill stress testing, medication-induced stress testing, and transesophageal echocardiography.

Principal Accountabilities:

Ensure the efficient delivery of quality, cost effective clinical Echocardiography services.

Ensures exams are performed according to department productivity standards and quality control.

Participates actively in the promotion and standardization of the service line.

Performs diagnostic quality 2D, M-Mode, pulsed Doppler, continuous Doppler and color flow Doppler images consistent with current technology. MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education/ Knowledge, including Licensure/ Certification/ Registration:

BLS Healthcare Provider.

High School Diploma.

A curriculum in an allied health profession, specifically in cardiovascular technology is desired.

Must be American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers registry-eligible.

Experience:

Adult and/or pediatric experience in Echocardiography as is typically obtained in twelve (12) months is strongly preferred.

Additional clinical experience in the field the acute care environment is desirable.

Skills:

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment and take appropriate actions in volatile situations.

Must be able to understand, read and write the English language.
