Problem solving, superior technical skills and possessing the ability to use good judgment under pressure are just some of the key attributes we are looking for in our Lighting Technicians.
Lighting Technicians at Universal Orlando are responsible for:
Performing preventative maintenance on lighting equipment, including lamp, dimmer, fixture and color and pattern inspections on a daily basis in the Ride and Show Attractions, utilizing various test equipment.
Troubleshooting and repairing of various lighting equipment, including dimmer racks, relay racks, control consoles, lighting fixtures, and controllers.
Auditing and replacing lamps and gels as needed in Ride and Show venues.
Performing touch-up focus and fixture adjustments in Ride and Show venues as directed by UO management and the lighting designer.
Understanding and actively participating in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Universal Orlando policies, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
Performing other duties as assigned.
To perform the role of a Lighting Technician successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Consistent attendance and punctuality is a job requirement.
High school diploma or GED required.
One to three years experience in theater lighting preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid Florida driver's license is required.
The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of the Lighting Technician job.
Lift greater than 25 pounds or more; use repetitive motion (extending, reaching, pushing/pulling, bending, twisting > 30x's per hour).
Operate cranes; perform maintenance on or service powerized equipment (pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical).
Use a forklift (sit down, stand-up or motorized pallet jacks).
The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of the Lighting Technician job.
Work on vibrating equipment; work with chemical and/or related fumes; be exposed to bodily fluids (blood, vomit, etc.); work at heights greater than 4 feet; work with waster batteries; work with waster fluorescent lamps.
