The Quality Assurance (QA) analyst is primarily responsible for testing all software products that are either built in-house or configured on the cloud. The analyst partners with internal stakeholders to plan, test, and implement all software changes to ensure that products conform to the desired quality standard. The analyst is accountable for defects and ensures that systems are operational and client ready. Duties Develops testing strategy and user acceptance testing plan. Prioritizes test scenarios and executes according to plan. Develops and documents step-by-step test cases based on the software requirements elicited by business analysts and software developers. Plans, tests, and implements all software changes resulting from work orders. Develops test scripts to automate manual repeatable time intensive tasks. Identifies, logs, and tracks defects. Provides reporting on defect tracking and escalates technical issues as needed. Develops and maintains testing standards, procedures, and guidelines to ensure consistent testing procedures. Partners with distributed teams, outside vendors or offshore testing partners. Follows standards in accordance with company policy and regulation. (SOX, etc.) Position Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Equivalent. Experience testing applications in accordance to required functionality and non-functional quality attributes. (e.g. availability, performance.) Experience writing test plans and test cases. Understanding of relational databases concept; ability to design SQL queries. Has an eye for detail. Strong problem solving and analytical skills. Looks for ways to maximize operational efficiency. Strong project management and organizational skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to anticipate user behavior or risks to systems. In-depth understanding of the various testing concepts. (e.g. functional, usability, performance) Understanding of basic Agile and iterative project management concepts. Ability to work independently. Ability to conduct manual and automated testing.
