UX Researcher needed for a contract-to-hire opportunity with Yoh's client located in San Diego, CA
The Big Picture - Top Skills You Should Possess:
- Seeking a trained User Experience (UX) Researcher interested in working in the Games-as-a-Service world
- Embed with game development teams and work on games from the point of creation through release and beyond.
- This is not a Designer role.
What You'll Be Doing:
- In partnership with other researchers and game development teams build product research plans
- Design, conduct and analyze user research studies for games, turning results into actionable data
- Work closely with game development teams to share results and help them refine their designs
What You Need to Bring to the Table:
- Advanced Degree in any of the following areas: Cognitive Psychology, Cognitive Science, Social Psychology, Human-Computer Interactions, Human Factors, Cultural Anthropology
- At least 2 years employment as an applied researcher
- Experience with multiple user research techniques both qualitative and quantitative including but not limited to: usability testing, survey techniques, ethnographic research methods, journal studies, video and telemetry analysis, field research, benchmarking, A/B testing
- A creative mindset when faced with research problems
- An interest in games, gamers and gaming world (nice to have)
Bonus Points! Otherwise Known As Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD. in degrees listed above (nice to have, but not required)
- Previous experience working on games (nice to have, but not required)
