The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a Sr. Technology Engineer for our Systems Engineering Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.

Essential Job Functions:
A successful candidate, as a part of the System Engineering team, will be responsible for design and development of Time Warner Cable ' s provisioning systems, such as the Broadband Provisioning System and the Enterprise Service Bus. The position involves in full software development lifecycle from requirement review, solution design, coding, testing, deployment, documentation and operations support; ensures on time delivery of assigned tasks and product quality; provides technical leadership to the development staff in all phases of the development and implementation process. The candidate will interact with the cross functional teams to create and / or review product requirements, functional specifications, detailed designs, implementation, unit/integration testing and deployment; Post development, interacts with the operations group to communicate / knowledge transfer product details for deployments; Evaluates new technologies and products and documents the product specifications as related to the J2EE environment; Carries out tests to evaluate various design, concepts, performance and features of applications; Works together with Engineers from the Regional Data Centers to troubleshoot and resolve persistent and escalated issues especially those related to J2EE infrastructure. The candidate must be able to work well independently without much supervision.



Job Requirements:
Consistent with a 24 X 7 Operations environment, this position needs to be available via cell phone to respond to escalated issues; Experience with systems and services designed to support multi-million customers is highly desired; A strong understanding of Unix and Linux based operating systems and their tuning; Understanding of enterprise application design, as well as web applications; Understanding of Services Oriented Architectures including web services/SOAP and XML/HTTP.

The candidate must be a team player, with an inherent ability to work well under tight timelines, changing priorities, and have strong problem-solving capabilities; He/She will be required to share experience, skill, and talents with associates and mentor others; The successful candidate must work well with minimal supervision. Candidate will also be required to produce and present solution designs to senior management.

This position is for a Senior Java Developer within Time Warner Cable’s Systems Engineering group to develop middleware application in Services Oriented Architecture (SOA) Environment. This group is responsible for designing and engineering of enterprise provisioning system for High Speed Data and Voice (VoIP) and Directory Service Bus.
Ability to design and develop applications in Java by using following technologies: SOA, workflow systems, Oracle 11g SOA Suite, XML, Hibernate, Spring, EJB, JMS, JAVA, RMI, JDBC, JNDI, Oracle Database, Message Queues, Unix and Linux. Must also have experience developing decoupled messaged-oriented integration end-to-end using XML, XPATH, XSLT, XSD. Successful candidate should have recent hands-on development experience in above mentioned technologies along with decent back ground in writing unit tests with JUnit framework, experience with Parasoft Test Suite preferred. Design patterns and Spring framework experience is highly desirable. Ability to develop application by using Oracle SOA Suite 11g or JBOSS application server. Ability to write build and installation scripts by using Perl, ANT and UNIX shell. Ability to perform software design by using object modeling language such as UML. Ability to program systems by using Oracle DB and LDAP as enterprise data store.
To qualify for this position, candidate must have bachelors in computer science or related discipline with eight plus years of experience in developing applications by using above mentioned technologies.


Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in designing middleware workflow engine by using Oracle SOA Suite 11g or JBOSS is highly desirable.
Experience in developing test cases using Parasoft Test Suite is highly desirable.
Experience in developing message-oriented integration application is highly desirable.
Experience in Telecom or Cable industry is preferable.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor ' s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:
No Supervisory responsibilities with this position.
