JOB FUNCTION
Performs all functions of Quality Control including development of process improvement initiatives. Must have a solid understanding of all facets of the operations. The Quality Control Supervisor will act as liaison between assemblers on line, line leads, and production manager. Moreover, will provide corrective action plan & support to production manager based on visual inspections of finished goods and reports detailing production efficiencies. The Supervisor will help in the training and development of assembly line personnel.
JOB SCOPE
The Quality Control Supervisor works closely and communicates with the Operators, Senior Technicians, Manager and other personnel as necessary to maintain continuous operation of the equipment and processes. The Supervisor is also responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the equipment and processes utilized in the production of quality fabricated pre-hung products for customers in the door manufacturing industry.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES
The Supervisor works with other technicians, operators and Senior Technicians in a team effort and shares responsibility for safety, quality and efficiency of the equipment and/or processes assigned to the work team in accordance with established standard work and procedures. You will report directly to the General Manager of the branch.
Supervisor duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Quality:
- Ensure Quality Assurance procedures and standards are accomplished.
- Follows and signs off parts description sheets for finished product spot checks
- Reports quality problems with materials to production manager and general manager
Productivity:
- Reports process problems to Senior Technician and Manager.
- Maximize productivity through process improvement initiatives.
Leadership:
- Able to communicate to all levels of the organization professionally.
- Sets high standards and develops operators.
- Maintains effective communication between all technicians.
- Assists in establishing teamwork and utilization of problem solving skills.
- Lead team-based problem solving activities.
- Cultivates teamwork within work group and with other functions.
Training:
- Develop quality aspect in the technician training process.
- Provide feedback to Manager when training is not followed.
Safety:
- Ensures compliance with standard operating procedures.
- Properly stores parts and finished product prior to shipment to customer
- Identifies improvements to product practices that reduce potential for injury.
- Supports all plant or departmental safety initiatives.
