Credentialing Specialist

Location: SE Portland

Schedule: Monday through Friday – 8:00am to 4:30pm

Pay Rate: $13.00/hour

Faith-based medical organization is in need of an individual with exceptional communication skills and the highest regard to confidentiality to be a part of their credentialing department.  This person would be responsible for receiving, processing, and verifying accuracy and completeness of all elements of applications according to credentialing practices and designated health policies. This assignment is long term and the duration is dependent upon qualifications.

Responsibilities:

·         Performs primary source verification of all necessary elements through communications (ie. informative letters, telephone verification, websites, etc.).

·         Able to ensure completion and accuracy of all documents by the appropriate credentialing entities prior to mandatory deadlines.

·         Maintains consistent knowledge of operations and functions of credentialing.

·         Remain current with all applicable credentialing requirements and accreditation standards.

·         Familiarity of HIPPA compliance to ensure absolute confidentiality of all protected health information obtained and activities performed.

·         Prepares care management committee agendas, attends committee meetings, and prepares draft minutes of those committees.

·         Other duties as assigned.

Education:

·         GED or High School diploma (Required).

·         Associate degree and credentialing experience (Preferred).

·         Certification in credentialing (Preferred).

Qualifications:

·         At least one year of experience as a credentialing specialist is desirable, but willing to consider those who have a combined background of education and experience.

·         Familiar with HIPPA compliance.

·         Knowledge of credentialing database software.

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

·         Exceptional communication skills with all levels of the organization.

·         Ability to use discretion and maintain the highest level of confidentiality.

·         Professional attitude and demeanor.

·         Strong attention to detail.
