This position will provide professional evaluation, assessment and referral services for employees and family members needing counseling, critical incident debriefing, psychotherapy, psychiatric hospitalization or chemical dependency treatment. This position works closely with union EAP coordinators in identification, assessment, treatment, and return-to-work procedures for employees with chemical dependency diagnoses. The position reports directly to the Lead EAP Manager.
 

This is a part time office based role in the aviation industry located in Chicago IL.
 
Primary Responsibilities:

Help to improve the productivity of employees whose personal problems may interfere with work performance
Interviews, assesses, and refers employees and family members who have personal problems
Monitors chemically-dependent employees returning to the workplace to ensure sobriety and ability to work safely
Submits overrides on DOT and company violation cases requiring chemical dependency treatment
Trains supervisors and employees on recognition and intervention for the troubled employee
Provides Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) services as required by DOT regulations for every ALL employee who tests positive for drugs or alcohol. This includes follow-up monitoring per DOT regulations
Provides Critical Incident Debriefing for employees involved in a workplace death, near-death experience or traumatic event
Maintain confidential records of employee contacts with EAP to provide continuity and coordination of care
Assists and consults with management with implementation of highly sensitive polices pertaining to safety, mental health, alcohol and drug dependency, employee termination and conditional reinstatement
Evaluates the quality of psychiatric and chemical dependency hospitals and therapists
Discuss, advise and consult with employees/family members regarding problems but do not provide counseling or mental health therapy

Requirements

Required Qualifications:


Licensed Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or Marriage or Family Counseling, or Licensed Ph.D. (must be active and unrestricted)

2+ years of experience in a related mental health environment

Basic Microsoft Proficiency

Qualified SAP or eligible to become SAP certified
Preferred Qualifications:


Inpatient experience

2+ years of EAP experience

CEAP Certified Employee Assistance Professional

Dual diagnosis experience with mental health and substance abuse

Experience working in an environment that required coordination of benefits and utilization of multiple groups and resources for patients

Experience dealing with crisis intervention
