SQL Server DBA - Full-time / Part-time

The SQL Server DBA plans and implements support for production SQL Servers.This person deploys, monitors, and controls Chipotle's production SQL Server databases and preproduction that includes partnering with database developers to ensure sound database design. Additional preproduction responsibilities include support of development, quality assurance and performance testing. This position provides 7-day, 24-hour on-call coverage for production database systems and requires a strong understanding of the client area's functions as well as system and technology alternatives.

Main Accountabilities

In addition to following Chipotle's policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

·Working with client management to communicate the technical impact of complex business requirements and process regarding diverse business application systems and databases

·Acting as an expert technical resource to the IT staff and provides primary technical database/application support for all systems for which they support

·Supporting and maintaining production system environments for functional business application systems

·Serving as a primary technical contact for operations services and scheduling groups

·Implementing and monitoring all database maintenance plans

·Performing performance tuning and monitoring efficiency of all production stored procedures, views, and TSQL queries

·Setting standards, lending expertise, and supporting the development stage of all SQL objects prior to production

·Maintaining the integrity of the production environment data through strong controls and a logical repeatable process for implementation

·Maintaining a strong security model that adheres to today’s best practices

·Researching and evaluating alternative technical solutions, and recommending the most efficient and cost-effective solutions

·Providing a high technical level of support regarding the performance of database and application upgrades with application development, scheduling, and user support groups

·Conducting technical studies and evaluations of business area requirements, and recommending technological solutions

·Providing guidance to the scheduling and support group regarding the implementation and production of workflow automation

·Creating baseline performance metrics to facilitate growth discussions

Qualifications

Education/Training

·Advanced technical degree in a related field and 5+ years experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge/Skills

·Five (5) to eight (8) years experience SQL Server development/administration

·Five (5) to eight (8) years experience supporting SQL Server environments in production

·SQL Server 2008/2012/2014 development and administration background

·TDE and column level encryption

·Strong knowledge of object creation and manipulation (tables, views, stored procedures, indexes, functions, constraints, triggers)

·Data archiving methodology for large databases

·Strong knowledge of database mirroring and SQL clustering best practices

·SQL Server upgrade implementation from 2008 to 2014, both in-place and server migration paths

·SQL Server Database Engine architecture design and implementation

·Windows Server 2008 and 2012 – SQL setup best practices

·SAN Disk partitioning SQL best practices

·Oracle and VMWare knowledge beneficial
