The Server's role is to create the energy and vibe that makes The Counter® unique.
This includes fun, friendly and timely interaction with Guests and Team Members, suggestive selling, answering questions, taking and delivering the Guests' order, providing cooperative service, and following up to ensure each Guest receives their correct food and/or drink order. Every Guest should have Fun and be made to feel Comfortable and Welcome at all times.
Job Duties:
Welcome and greets the Guests following established service guidelines
Taking guests orders- makes recommendations about our food, beverages, features and other restaurant functions and services
Running food
Handling cash & other forms of payment
Making proficient sales transactions - using a point-of-sale system
Properly checks I.D.s – for guests who appear to be under 30 years old
Demonstrating responsible alcohol service
Demonstrating impeccable product knowledge
Utilize suggestive selling and upselling techniques
Answering questions - accurately and politely
Satisfying any/all needs of the guests - regularly double checking back with guests throughout their experience
Maintaining a clean & organized station – including pre-bussing & table maintenance
Performing opening, running & closing duties – setting up/breaking down station, refilling condiments, etc.
Demonstrating knowledge of all table/station numbers
Directing guests to areas & restrooms
Creating Encore experiences

Requirements
Skills / Qualifications: 1-2 years’ experience required High School Diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred Alcohol Certification required or ability to obtain one Food handler’s certification required or ability to obtain one Practicing all general safety standards Performing duties which require bending & reaching Lifting & transporting up to 25-pound dining chairs, booster seats, and food/drink orders (from Bar & Kitchen to guests’ tables) Ability to stand and / or walk throughout the entire shift and work in a restaurant environment Following all uniform guidelines Ability to manage his / her own workflow and resolve questions and problems with management Must have working knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions Demonstrating a high level of organization, attention-to-detail and a sense-of-urgency Displaying a positive and outwardly friendly attitude toward guests **This job description is not an exclusive or exhaustive list of all job functions that an employee in this position may be asked to perform** The Counter® is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
