Overall Purpose:The Batcher is accountable for preparing and mixing of appropriate ingredients required to produce finished syrup from calculation for bottling, canning, and premix/post-mix operations based upon number of cases and tanks scheduled for production each shift.

Specific Accountabilities:
Responsible for complying with food safety, food security, Quality, GMP’s, HAACP, Allergen, and Sensitizer as well as other regulations as required.
Follow all company safety procedures and policies, as well as all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Cleans containers, utensils, scales, floors, and area as needed..
Any and all other duties needed within the Batching department.
  1. Control flow of syrup to production lines.
  2. Mix and blend ingredients to create various batches.
  3. Set equipment parameters for operation.
  4. Perform quality checks as required.
  5. Perform sanitation.
  6. Inventory and control ingredients.
  7. Receive, monitor and control sugar.
  8. Maintain records.
  9. Operate forklift truck.


Education & Experience
High School diploma and/or GED is preferred.
Prior manufacturing experience is required and batching or mixing experience is preferred.

Skills & Knowledge
Excellent interpersonal skills, team player and an attitude of ownership are a must.
Able to read, write and speak English.
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Mechanical aptitude/ability preferred with previous machinery operation experience in a manufacturing environment required.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
The associate frequently is required to stand and walk.
The associate is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell.
Associate must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the associate regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes/odors or airborne particles, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
The associate frequently works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions.
The associate is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Personal Protective and Safety Equipment is required at all times by all associates in all production areas.
