Willing to be a union worker on a fixed schedule - Fri-Tues 2pm-10pm (Wed-Thurs OFF)

This individual will be working as a 2nd class engineer at one of their 4 power generating facilities in Boston. The responsibilities will include the oversight of boiler opps and power generation within the facility. They will need to be comfortable joining or being part of the union. The pay for this position is very good, and the company offers more growth than is typical for power plant workers due to the number of power generating assets they own in Boston.

Generates and oversee LOTO operations for plant equipment.

Schedules and directs the work of Auxiliary and Control Operators to ensure the safe, reliable and cost effective operation of the plant and uninterrupted delivery of service.

Participates in the starting, control, operation, shutdown and inspection of turbines , pumps, boilers, chillers, generators and all associated equipment.

Monitors instrumentation - for proper operating conditions, determines nature and cause of trouble and performs necessary corrective action to protect personnel, equipment, system integrity and maintain system efficiency and safety.

Prepares logs and other operating records including data collection via the plant computer.

Performs regular inspection tours of the plant..

Operates and performs routine operating maintenance and preventive maintenance, including cleaning of equipment (pumps, water conditioning equipment, etc.)

Performs boiler start-up and control, including burner light-off, adjustments for optimum firing, soot blowing, burner changing and cleaning and other duties.
