This where you will do your life's best work.SMIn this exciting role, Data Architect, you will work with state-of-the-art relational database technologies and be part of a team of highly skilled IT Data professionals working on mission critical applications and systems. As an Optum One Data Architect, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of all functions of relational database systems. You will be responsible for the following: database access, methods and time, device allocations, validation checks, organization, security, documentation, and statistical methodology. In this role you will monitor overall standards and procedures and assist in integrating various systems. You will also consult with users, determine requirements and recommend database establishment and utilization.Primary Responsibilities:

Work with the Data Architect Team to design new database patterns / structures to evolve the data warehouse to meet new and changing business requirements. 
Help maintain logical and physical data warehouse models to support the diverse range of data uses, including the creation and maintenance of ERD diagrams and other documentation.
Understand key attributes of available data sources and leverage these attributes to develop creative solutions
Partner with project teams and interact with customers to find solutions for projects and operational issues for existing and proposed data flows
Represent Data Architecture team interests in cross-functional project teams and coordinate Data Integration Development work within project scope with other internal data warehouse staff and other technical areas
Optimize existing processes for efficiency
Anticipate customer needs and proactively develop solutions to meet them
Mentor both Data Management and other business users on the warehouse architecture and best practices in data usage.
Adhere to the system development life cycle and be responsible for time estimates for development efforts, and completion of deliverables within project timelines
Perform complex conceptual analyses
Serve as a key resource on complex and/or critical issues
Review work performed by others and provides recommendations for improvement
Forecast and plan resource requirements
Review the work of others
Serve as Subject Matter Expert

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
10+ years of relational database experience in a complex, enterprise environment
5+ years of experience writing SQL in a Data Warehouse / Data Mart environment
2+ years of experience with Oracle Preferred Qualifications:

Health care industry experience
Unix/Linux experience, specifically shell scripting and automation
Statistical Analysis or Data Quality assessment experience
