This position serves as a member of the Medicare & Retirement Internal Communications team and plays a key role in maintaining Medicare & Retirement?s excellent employee engagement scores. This role contributes to all Medicare & Retirement employee communication vehicles including leader and employee meetings, intranet and eNewsletter articles, executive talking points and scripts, videos, leader town halls and more. It also requires developing Internal Communications plans tied to key company initiatives and programs. This role requires working with clients and senior leaders to assess and determine their communication needs and to align those needs with broader Medicare & Retirement communications. Finally, this position requires knowing the Medicare & Retirement business so all communications help the organization accomplish its objectives.
Primary Responsibilities:
Excellent writing, editing and proofing skills with a focus on simplifying complex messages
Ability to provide strategic communications counsel to clients and senior leaders
Excellent relationship-building and listening skills
Attention to detail and quality in the development of a suite of communication tools including leader and employee meetings, intranet content, town halls, e-Newsletter content, leader presentations/talking points and more
Proven ability to prioritize work based on business priorities
Work collaboratively with UnitedHealthcare Medicare & Retirement Internal and External Communications and UnitedHealthcare, Optum and UnitedHealth Group Corporate Communications teams

7+ years of communications, public relations or marketing experience
7+ years of professional writing and editing experience
7+ years experience with the full suite of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Demonstrated Ability to clarify, manage and prioritize several deliverables.
Proven organizational skills
