The Project Manager is responsible for leading a software development project from its inception to release. This includes project planning, managing agile teams through execution, budgeting and financial oversight, and working with various stakeholders throughout the process to ensure they are getting what they need from the effort. Project managers must have the discipline to create clear and attainable objectives and to see them through to successful completion.

Primary Responsibilities:

Manage projects from initiation through to release/deployment and operational maintenance using the Optum SDLC methodology
Ensure projects deliver planned scope, and are completed on time and within budget
Manage the risks, issues, deliverables, ownership, and schedule of individual project tasks
Ensure SDLC is followed and project documentation is accurate
Communicate project status to stakeholders and executive level leadership
Identify solutions to non-standard requests and problems
Review pertinent data and facts to identify and solve issues and mitigate risks, prioritize your work load and work on ad-hoc projects as assigned
Develop innovative approaches to solving problems and streamlining work
Coach, provide feedback, and guide other Project Managers
Work with Resource Managers across the organization to build  and maintain project resource plan
Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple projects and priorities
Ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely

Required Qualifications:

BA/BS degree or equivalent education and experience
3+ years of managing software development projects
Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio & PowerPoint
Prior experience communicating with all levels of the organization including senior executives
Must be able to work in Eden Prairie, MN or Franklin, TN
Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience managing commercial software product development projects for healthcare IT or similar markets
Previous experience tracking and coordinating the efforts of both business leaders and technical individuals such as Architects, developers, testers, and infrastructure support
Previous experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe
PMP certification
Healthcare experience
Experience using SharePoint, Planview, and/or Rally software
Experience working in a matrixed environment
